Balurghat B.Ed. College is situated in the district town of Dakshin Dinajpur which is a border district and backward region of West Bengal. The area is agro dominated and rural, where economic activity varies with the variation of agricultural production. The reminiscence unfolds the historical facts that the Independence of India, formation of East Pakistan and hence the partition of Bengal caused exodus of huge Hindu population from the then East Pakistan to India. Notwithstanding the loss of valuable property, profitable business and profession, the Hindus left the then East Pakistan and entered India to get settlement. Balurghat being a border town, the growth rate of population rose from five thousand to 50 thousand in the year of Independence.

Course in Perspectives in Education (OBC-A – 01, SC-01, OBC-B-01, UR -01), Pedagogic Courses :- [Language Group (Bengali- UR – 01, SC-01, Sanskrit-UR-01)], Social Science Group (History-UR-02, Geography- SC-01), Mathematics Group -UR-01, Health & Physical Education-SC- 01, Visual Arts-UR-01 and Performing Arts- OBC-B -01 (Music/Dance/Theatre Arts). Qualification and age: as per NCTE Notification dated-28th November,2014. NET/SET qualified candidates may be given preference for B.Ed. course. (ii)Applications are also invited from NET/SET qualified candidates who have requisite qualifications as per NCTE Notification dated-28th November,2014 for the post of Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors for M.Ed. Course. The scale of pay and other allowances will be as per norms of the university. Willing candidates are requested to apply with full Bio-data and along with passport size photo from 1st June 2017 to 7th June 2017.

Online Application form will be available on and from 1st Week of June 2017 as per notice of WBUTTEP Website (Online Application). Eligibility for B.Ed. : Candidates should be Graduates in a school subject from a recognized university. Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor's Degree(General) / or in the Master's Degree in School subjects are eligible to apply. Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology with Science and/or Mathematics, with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are also eligible for admission. Such candidates are required to enter the marks of B.E/ B. Tech. in the row of Honours Degree. M.E. / M. Tech result (if any) will be entered in the Master’s Degree row. Honours Graduates in school subject should enter the Honours marks only in the row of Bachelor’s degree (Honours). In case of General Graduates, the total marks obtained in general subjects should be entered in the row of Bachelor’s degree (General). For candidates with less than 50% marks in the honours degree, the total marks of pass and Honours subjects will be considered. If it becomes 50% or more, that score will be entered in Graduation (General) row. For fresh candidates, merit list will be prepared separately for each school subject based on scoring. For Deputed Candidates, merit list will be prepared separately for each school subject based on length of service. Reservation of seats for SC/ST/PWD ( Minimum disability 40%)candidates will be as per Govt. Rules. Relaxation of minimum qualifying marks will be as per Govt. rules. The Reservation as stated is not applicable for Self-Financed Colleges. Eligibility for M.Ed. :Candidates seeking admission to the M.Ed. programme should have obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade in the following programme- 1) B.Ed., (2) B.A, B.Ed., B.Sc., B.Ed., (3) B.El.Ed., (4) D.El.Ed. with an undergraduate degree (with 50% marks in each)
